Guido's Brings Perfect Pizza to Grand Blanc!
Made to perfection ...
Guido’s Pizza strives for unique taste
Guido’s Premium Pizza of Grand Blanc owners, David Harris (left) and Del Yeoman (right) work by the motto, “you are only as good as the last pizza you take out” to ensure their customers get the best pizza every time. Guido’s makes all their items from scratch and only uses the freshest of ingredients. Photo By Amanda Braniecki GRAND BLANC — Pizza has always tasted the same, or at least that was the case before Guido’s Premium Pizza came to Grand Blanc.
“I like the other pizza chains in Grand Blanc, but I am tired of the same pizza.
like to mix it up and Guido’s menu is perfect,” said Grand Blanc resident Lauren Perry.
Guido’s, a Michigan-based company, opened its 11th operating franchise in 17 years at 545 Grand Blanc Rd. in late May.
David Harris and Del Yeoman, co-owners of the Grand Blanc Guido’s, have more than 50 years of experience combined in the food industry.
Harris started working in the restaurant industry when he was in high school and has been working in it ever since. He worked his way through college in the restaurant industry and went on to run corporate restaurants, such as Chili’s Bar and Grill where he met Yeoman.
Both Harris and Yeoman were looking to break away from the corporate setting though and wanted to find
place that had the quality they were really looking for.
They found that quality in the award-winning pizzeria, Guido’s. Their pizza has been voted the best pizza in Clarkston, Metro Detroit, Sault Ste. Marie, Brighton and Oxford.
Inspired by the success, Harris and Yeoman’s decision to open a Grand Blanc location came after witnessing what Yeoman said was a “small town appeal with a large town feel.”
“I have been coming out here for years for the golf tournament and I just fell in love with the area,” said Harris. “It is a nice community and an area that I think was ready for a really good pizzeria.”
Part of what makes Guido’s pizzeria popular is the fact their ingredients are fresh and the food is made from scratch daily.
“I am very picky in my tastes in general, and Guido’s pizza was an immediate favorite,” said Perry.
Customers can pick from three different crusts — thin, hand tossed or deep dish — but it is really the sauce that gets them. Guido’s is known as “The Savory Sauce Boss,” offer- ing three varieties- spicy fire roasted, chunky tomato or original.
The most popular items on the menu include “The Big G” — a 16”x16,” 16 piece deep dish pizza — and “Da Boss” — Guido’s own version of a Chicago style pizza.
“People can really just pick what they are in the mood for,” Harris said. “We also do our own pastas, baked subs and baked wings. And really, it is all about the pizza, but I have people come in here saying ‘your mostaccioli is the best’ too.”
Despite being new to the area, Harris said he is amazed with the support from the community. He has opened 23 restaurants and never before has he had people call him back like his Guido’s customers do saying that his pizza is the best.
“The people of Grand Blanc have been great,” Yeoman added. “The numbers for June were awesome. It’s like don’t people grill anymore? These people obviously want great food and hopefully we are giving it to them.”
With business going so well in Grand Blanc, Harris said he and Yeoman have been toying with the idea of expanding to places like Holly and Swartz Creek.
For now though, Harris said they are just excited to be here in the Grand Blanc area, and hope to be for a very long time.
Guido’s is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and is now accepting online orders for pick-up, delivery or dine-in. For a list of summer specials call the store at 810- 695-6000. Guido’s also caters for both large and small events.

Guido's Premium Pizza was voted Clarkston's "Best Pizza" by the readers of the Clarkston News and the Penny Stretcher two years straight. Encouraged by the affirmation from customers, Del Yeoman, owner of the Clarkston Guido franchise, has set his sights on Grand Blanc for a new Guido's Premium Pizza location. The Grand Blanc Guido’s is located at 545 E. Grand Blanc Road and is now open.
Grand Blanc residents are in for a treat. “Guido’s is coming and we’re here to serve you the sauce, toppings and crust of your choice,” said Yeoman. “Get ready for a new favorite pizza.” A key reason for Guido’s success is the customer not only decides which fresh ingredients top their pizzas, they also choose their favorite sauces and a crust from Guido’s multiple options.
Known as “The Savory Sauce Boss,” Guido’s offers 3 varieties of pizza sauce (spicy fire roasted, chunky tomato or original) on thin crust, hand tossed or deep dish pizza. All pizzas are heavily loaded with fresh toppings.
Stromboli is the most recent addition to the menu, with pasta, hot subs, salads and mozzarella bread as wonderful complements. Specialty pizzas include BBQ chicken, Da Boss (Guido’s mouth-watering version of a Chicago style pizza), and the ever popular Guido’s Hawaiian pizza.
Open seven days a week, for lunch and dinner Guido’s also caters large and small parties and events. “We can deliver exceptional food and value for office parties, family reunions, sports teams and every other group event you can think of,” says Yeoman. Since 1993 Guido’s has made every menu item fresh to order with daily dough making, cheese grating, vegetable cutting and sauce blending.
The Grand Blanc restaurant is the 11th operating franchise location. “All of our locations are recognized for their customer service and fast deliveries; we’re looking forward to meeting new customers and building new friendships in Grand Blanc.”

Preschool Chefs Takeover Guido's Sault Ste. Marie Location
PIZZA FOR EVERYONE
Kids Takeover Local Guido's Pizzeria
St. Mary Preschool in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan knows that naturally curious and active children learn best through experiences. Preschool students recently toured Guido’s Premium Pizza to learn about the business as well as age appropriate restaurant etiquette.
“It was such fun to have the kids here,” said Guido’s owner Carrie Raynard. “They started by coloring chef hats and loved making their own pizzas.” Field trips, in general, help young children learn about themselves and their communities through hands-on discovery but getting to eat pizza was a bonus. “We could definitely tell who is wired to own a Guido’s,” said Raynard. “Most of the kids made plain cheese pizzas. One boy made cheese, ham, pineapple and pepperoni. That one we’ll keep an eye on!”
9th in the World!

Guido's Employee Places 9th in the World-Amanda Barks-Elite Pizza Box Folder
Las Vegas, NV, March 2010 -- The 2010 World Pizza Games were held March 2-4, at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada and Amanda Barks from Guido’s Premium Pizza Sault Ste. Marie competed in the Fastest Box Folding event.
“It might seem funny but the competition is intense,” says Shawn McGuire, founder of Guido’s Premium Pizza. “It’s an international event, imagine a Pizza Olympics.” Carrie Raynard, owner of Guido’s Sault Ste. Marie store is proud to have Barks on staff. “On busy nights, Amanda is the one we want folding boxes.”
All competitors were 18 years or older, currently working in the pizza industry, and some even pre-qualified for the finals at a prior regional event. The goal of the box folding contest is to completely and properly fold five 12” pizza boxes as fast as possible. Time was recorded down to the hundredth of a second. The 2010 winning time of 19:17 seconds was good for $1,000. Barks clocked in at 29 seconds.
Guido's Founder Attends International Pizza Expo
Las Vegas, NV, March 4, 2010 --Shawn McGuire, founder of Guido’s Premium Pizza, is exhausted. “I’m a good tired,” says McGuire upon return from the International Pizza Expo. “Imagine four football fields full of 10,000 pizza professionals and 1,000 pizza exhibits.” The International Pizza Expo is the most comprehensive and dominant event in the $35+ billion-a-year pizza industry. The event historically includes attendees from all 50 states as well as 40 foreign countries.
“I go to network with peers and learn what's new,” said McGuire. “I’m most excited about the fact that I think I’ve finally found an online ordering system that will work for our customers.” McGuire is also considering new point of purchase software and a product that would allow customers to personalize their pizza with pictures and words.

Guido's Oxford Wins Best of the Best-AGAIN!

When you love your work, it shows and Shawn McGuire, owner and founder of Guido’s Pizza, loves serving the Oxford community. “This year our customers voted Guido’s best pizza, best sub, best salad, best customer service and best catering in town. Guido's Premium Pizza Delivers from Pontiac Michigan to Florida!!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 28, 2009
“We’ve Got a Delivery To Make”
Guido’s Pizza drives 1,500 miles to deliver pizza for wedding
Oxford, Michigan –Guido’s pizza founder Shawn McGuire received a phone call from Clint Bryant, owner of Guido’s Pontiac franchise, “We’ve got a delivery to make.” And deliver they did.
McGuire and Bryant drove 1,500 miles to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to deliver a Big G pizza with pepperoni, onions and banana peppers to groom Jeff Ringold and his bride Kelly Nelson. Ringold and his friend Jonathan Lawson used to live near Guido’s Pizza in Pontiac, Michigan and regularly enjoyed Big G pizzas together. Both men eventually moved to Florida and often longed for their favorite pizza. Lawson knew it was a long shot but he wanted his wedding gift to be a Guido’s pizza so he called Michigan.
“He wanted to know if we could freeze the pizzas and send them down,” said McGuire. “But we only serve fresh pizza so we arranged to make it happen.” McGuire and Bryant first made sure the dough, cheese and toppings would travel and stay fresh for 24 hours. After multiple phone calls they found a pizzeria in near Ft. Lauderdale willing to open their kitchen. “It couldn’t have happened without Pizza Machine in Hollywood Florida, they let us use their kitchen on the day of the wedding,” said McGuire.
On Friday morning, September 26 the Guido’s van headed to Florida. McGuire and Bryant drove through the night to make sure they arrived with enough time for the dough to rise. After a quick lunch at the beach they did a dry run to make sure they could find the Ritz Carlton in Ft. Lauderdale where the reception was being held, “It’s a good thing we did our research because we couldn’t find the place,” said McGuire

.
While prepping the pizzas McGuire received a frantic phone call from Lawson. He said the hotel would not allow outside food. “At that point I was inexplicably calm,” said McGuire. “Our job was to make sure the groom got his pizza, nothing was going to stop us.” At 11:00 pm the bride and groom were escorted from the reception to the front of the hotel for a surprise. The groom assumed his friend had found a local Guido’s franchise. Lawson said, “No buddy, they came from Michigan, happy wedding day!”
